“You are all such beautiful beings, you are endless profound possibility.”
In satsang Bernie shared with us about possibilities and potentials that arise and that there can be a draw to particular people to create with – however that may not be seen by that individual and then Being just moves on. This satsang really touched me and opened up what I had experienced with Filipo, the Headmaster from the school when we shared The Form the other day.
Such a deep acknowledgement inside of the depth of meeting and also a deep seeing that this wasn’t for me, the accustomed sense of self. I was due to go at lunch time to the school, Filipo had invited Bernie and I had promised him I would come and visit before I left. I also had not been to the school and was thrilled at the opportunity to go. I had no idea why I was going, as in any set agenda or reason just that my heart pulled me to connect with him again. At the same time there was this very sweet place inside of letting it all go even though there had been the profound opening into being and the potential of creativity together.
“The moment we respond to the highest within us we are immediately accountable.”
Bernie couldn’t come along but Oonagh came with me. A beautiful opportunity for me to share a boat ride with her, as the wind blew through our hair, the sun kissed the skin and the spray off the waves occasionally splashed over into the boat and over us. Making our way around the Malolo Island until we arrived at the Village – I was so thrilled to be there, climbing out the boat and wading up to the beach, small fish dancing between my legs. Oongah had been to the school the year before so she knew where to go and we left Sunny our Fijian boat man looking after the long boat as the tide was turning and would soon be going out.
We entered the school grounds and we soon saw Filipo waiting for us with a big wide smile and an open heart. He has a passion
and enthusiasm for life that is thoroughly infectious even from 20 metres away! His class, of older children ages 12 to 14 had been practising all morning for our arrival – they were going to dance a boy’s dance and a girl’s dance for us. He was very excited and a little disappointed we didn’t have Bernie and a boat full of people but very pleased we came. Just before ushering us into the classroom he broke open a coconut and we drank and embraced his hospitality. The children all sat on the floor ready for us, Filipo explained they were going to sing for us and he got on the floor with sticks to play a beat on the floor. Before we knew they burst into song and we are clapping in tune with the rhythm. He asked us afterwards to share where we were from and what we do. I felt a little clumsy at what I could offer as I talked about the moving meditation called The Form that I teach, and how it helps people to connect in there hearts together. These beautiful faces looking at us all wide eyed, and a little shy. Oonagh spoke about her passion for Chocolate, which you could almost hear the taste buds in the room popping.
Some of them went out to get changed and the girls came back in sarongs and boob tube type tops with green leaves wrapped around their wrists and waists. Looking at us as they tried to veil eye contact by looking down at the floor, or looking anywhere else then at these two women sat on chairs in front of them. Very tender and sweet as they rolled their wrists, and danced the moves. Then the boys, giggling their way in wearing grass skirts and holding sticks. Dancing out the warrior moves as they shook their sticks, lept and danced.
Filipo took us around the school and it was so beautiful to see even the smallest ones of around 5 cleaning up the classroom for the day, one girl cleaning the windows with a shy smile, and a little girl in red flower dress half hanging off her shoulder in the doorway, looking at us silently. We made our way to Filipos office and sat and chatted with him.
He is an extraordinary man who took back everything he opened to when he came here for half a day last week. He introduced Heart Share groups to the older children. They sat and exchanged there hearts and then he guided them through a meditation with music. He said they sat so still for 30 mins… A miracle I would say! He shared how their sharings together had opened his heart as they spoke of what they were facing or being challenged with to each other. How beautiful that he held the space and real openness took place between the classmates. He voiced how he wanted to teach them The Form and could he learn it. Before we knew it we had arranged for him to come and learn some of Part 1 here at Walu with us before we left. It also emerged that he wanted to learn the whole thing and start a group in Fiji, teach The Form across Fiji. We then realised that he had time off when Sangsurya Retreat in Australia is on in April 2011 and said he could come to that. His heart was so on fire and it was just such an amazing YES for him and for us.
“All you have to live is the knowing in your heart.”
His openness and thrill at what had revealed in his life and how he immediately took that to his environment and shared in his
discovery with his family, teachers and the children was just amazing. His whole philosophy to life was a true inspiration. He spoke of how fortunate they were as funds always seemed to appear and as funds came in it was so clear how he gave away to other schools who had less, even the children created paintings that they could be auctioned for charities to support others in Fiji. This little village island school with 169 students, some who walk up to 8 miles to get to school each day was a shining example of passion, creativity and heart based activity. Oonagh handed over to him a brown paper bag that she had bought over; she had bought over chocolate from NZ and had sold it to participants the night before to raise funds for the school. Just over 200 FJD and he looked at the bag and money with utter surprise and delight at the gift, a grin from ear to ear and a big beating heart.
I left there with a glow of communion, a total honour to meet this extraordinary man, his vision and passion for life. His vulnerability, humility and joy. And his obvious love of the children and his purpose in life. The heart so free in the inspiration he shone, also for his innocent passion for teaching The Form for bringing it to his school and to Fiji.
When we got back things moved so fast, I was holding the space for the next session where we danced part 1 to 5. A beautiful sharing that I could see was opening such new places and yet also seeing in the field how the self-structures were coming up. Giving as best as I could to the softness smallest place inside and being as tender with myself as possible.
After dinner there was an announcement to the group that we were going to be having a hermit crab race that evening – yes you did read that bit right, a hermit crab race! All proceeds to go towards a flight for Filipo to get to Australia for the retreat next year. It was also shared how Bernie will be offering him a place on the retreat to be able to be there. So beautiful, so deeply touched at what is opening for him. And also I saw how little this had anything to do with me and my sweet and brief connection with him. Yet knowing the depth of communion that took place in such an authentic place and the profound gift I had received. So I died a little bit more…. Actually that’s probably a bit dramatic – I was being radically honest to what I knew to be true and letting go to any attachment on how that should look. In that what I have tasted is real creativity, creativity of being that serves a wider field of expression.

as i meet your gaze
thru the veils of haze
of your emerald eyes
the portals of your soul
you take my hand
into the land
where my feet
cannot feel the ground
we expand thru the realms
on every breath
where only essence
truth and love
reside

this is so very beautiful what is happening with the teacher and today I had a phone call from the head teacher in one of the schools here – she used to come regularly for sessions of massage and reflexology. have not heard from her for some time , then today she called and asked to come for the FORM. she is coming on tuesday. amazing…more blessings for the children. and i loved what Alpha said(think that is who it was) in his sharing with Bernie – on the conference call 2nite, where he spoke about changing from the’ headmaster’ to the ‘heartmaster’ – YES
